Just up the hill overlooking the lake is a custom-built, 36 foot tall red cedar lodge brought in from Washington state called "The Barn". It's the first of it's kind ever built that's custom decorated in an elegant and relaxing rustic hill country style. You enter the Barn from a covered 48X8 front porch with stamped concrete that looks just like wood. Through the two sets of french doors, downstairs is a bathroom, built-in cubbies, and comfortable den with massive stone, wood-burning fireplace which leads to the perfect size kitchen outfitted with stainless appliances. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and 2 full baths with one room including 6 custom-built bunk beds. There is a perfect little nook that overlooks the downstairs area for reading or surfing the internet. Downstairs the Barn has the perfect layout for 1-2 families to really enjoy. The back lower part of the lodge is a huge garage with 12X8 air conditioned workshop, 8 foot long stainless steel table with sink for cleaning game, air hockey, ping pong, a half bath, and an outdoor shower. Behind the Barn is a game cleaning station with electric and water next to a 10,000 gallon cistern. The entire Barn area is completely covered in large granite gravel and just beyond that are 2 acres irrigated to keep the wildflowers happy and the dust around the house down.
The entire ranch has been high fenced to manage the game as best as possible as well as the predators. You will find some of the largest Axis and Whitetail deer that Texas has to offer. These deer have been on a protein feeding plan and can be hunted from 4 quality blinds around the ranch overlooking All Seasons corn feeders and 5 large protein feeders. Driving through the ranch you will also see some Buffalo and Blackbuck Antelope. There are two 3 acre highfence traps by the house with 400 gallon water troughs to assist the ranch owner with managing new livestock on the ranch. There are also turkey, dove and quail. During winter months waterfowl are found on the lakes including widgeon, mallards and wood ducks. American Bull Frogs have also been stocked along the creeks for Bass as well as frogging fun.
